Plug your compatible Bluetooth Low Energy OBD-II adapter into the vehicle's OBD-II port. Turn the ignition on or start the engine, make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone, and then open Car Health Data.
Follow the instructions in the app to connect to the adapter and begin recording supported vehicle data.
Answers to common setup and connection questions.
Car Health Data is designed for compatible Bluetooth Low Energy, or BLE, OBD-II adapters. Compatibility can vary by adapter, vehicle, and the communication protocols supported by the vehicle.
Confirm that the adapter is connected and that the vehicle ignition is on. Some vehicles do not support every OBD-II measurement, and supported data can vary by make, model, year, and engine control system.
The adapter may receive power with the ignition off, but most live engine data is available only when the ignition is on or the engine is running.
No. Car Health Data is an informational tool. Vehicle data and automated analysis may be incomplete or inaccurate and should not replace inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, or repair by a qualified automotive professional.
Information is handled as described in the Car Health Data Privacy Policy. The app and service collect only the information needed to provide their functions, maintain accounts, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.
The detailed setup guide and Privacy Policy are also available from the top of this page.
