Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 21, 2026
1. Scope
This policy applies to the Car Health Data mobile application, the carhealthdata.com website, and the related vehicle-data collection, account-linking, storage, analysis, and reporting services.
By using the application or services, you acknowledge the practices described in this policy. Do not use the recording features if you do not want the application to collect and transmit the data described below.
2. Information We Collect
Account and contact information
When you create or use an account through the Car Health Data website, we may collect your email address, password in hashed form, account status, subscription status, account identifiers, authentication tokens, and app link codes. The mobile application may store an authentication token on your device so it can communicate with your account.
Vehicle and OBD-II telemetry
When you start a recording session and connect a compatible OBD-II adapter, the application may collect information supplied by the vehicle or calculated from that information. Depending on vehicle support, this may include:
- Engine speed (RPM), vehicle speed, coolant temperature, and throttle position.
- Engine load, manifold pressure, intake-air temperature, and ignition timing.
- Fuel-system status, short- and long-term fuel trim, oxygen-sensor readings, voltage, and estimated mass airflow.
- Diagnostic, connection, timing, and data-quality information associated with a recording session.
Precise location
With your mobile device permission and while the relevant recording feature is being used, the application may collect precise GPS latitude and longitude. Location can be associated with vehicle telemetry and a recording session. Location helps place vehicle behavior in driving context, such as movement, route conditions, and operating phases. You can deny or revoke location permission through device's settings, although some recording or contextual analysis features may then be limited.
Session and technical information
We may collect a randomly generated session identifier, timestamps, Bluetooth connection status, OBD-II adapter responses, application events, server request information, and limited technical logs needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service. A session identifier groups readings from the same recording session and is not intended to be a government-issued or real-world identity number.
Analytical reports and user requests
We collect the data and instructions submitted when you request an analytical report. Generated reports, diagnostic observations, confidence statements, and recommendations may be stored with your account or session.
Website and payment information
The website may receive ordinary web-server information such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs. Paid website subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full payment-card number. We may receive transaction identifiers, Stripe customer identifiers, subscription status, and payment-status information.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Connect the mobile application to your Car Health Data account.
- Receive, organize, display, and retain vehicle telemetry by recording session.
- Create contextual vehicle-health analyses and human-readable reports.
- Operate account, subscription, and access-control features.
- Respond to support requests and troubleshoot Bluetooth, vehicle, app, website, and server issues.
- Protect the application, website, users, and infrastructure against misuse, fraud, and security threats.
- Maintain and improve the reliability and functionality of the service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
We do not use precise location or vehicle telemetry for third-party advertising, and we do not sell personal information or vehicle telemetry.
4. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information only as described below:
Service providers
- Hosting and infrastructure providers may process data to host the website, application programming interfaces, databases, and related services.
- OpenAI or another disclosed artificial-intelligence processing provider may receive vehicle telemetry, derived context, session information, and report instructions needed to generate an analysis. We seek to avoid sending payment-card data or account passwords for this purpose.
- Stripe processes website subscription payments and provides subscription and transaction status information to us.
- Other technical providers may process limited information when reasonably necessary for security, email delivery, debugging, or service operation.
Legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request; protect rights, property, or safety; investigate fraud or abuse; or enforce agreements.
Business changes
Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.
5. Data Storage, Security, and Transmission
Vehicle telemetry, location, account information, and analytical reports may be transmitted from the application to Car Health Data servers over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information, including access controls, password hashing, and encrypted network transmission where supported.
No storage or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and controlling access to their devices and vehicles.
6. Data Retention
We retain account information, vehicle telemetry, location records, recording sessions, and reports for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain historical vehicle analysis, comply with law, resolve disputes, protect security, and enforce agreements. Some security logs and transaction records may be retained after account deletion when required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or system-integrity purposes.
Data may also remain temporarily in backups until those backups are rotated or securely deleted in the ordinary course of operations.
7. Your Choices and Data Rights
- Location: You may grant, deny, or revoke location permission through the device's settings.
- Recording: Vehicle telemetry and associated location are collected through the recording functionality. Do not start recording when you do not want that information collected.
- Access and correction: You may request access to or correction of personal information associated with your account.
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated user data by contacting us using the method in Section 13.
- Uninstalling: Uninstalling the application removes its local app data from the device in accordance with the phone's behavior, but it does not automatically delete information already transmitted to our servers.
We may need to verify your identity before completing an access, correction, or deletion request. Certain information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
8. Account and Data Deletion Requests
To request deletion of your Car Health Data account and associated data, send an email from the address associated with your account to privacy@networks-cc.com with the subject line Account Deletion Request.
Please identify the account email address and state whether you are requesting deletion of the entire account or particular recording sessions. After reasonable verification, we will delete or de-identify data that we are not required or permitted to retain. Legal, payment, fraud-prevention, security, and backup records may be retained as described in Section 6.
9. Bluetooth and Nearby Devices
The application uses the phone's Bluetooth or nearby-device permissions to discover and communicate with a compatible OBD-II adapter selected by the user. Bluetooth access is used to obtain vehicle telemetry and manage the connection. We do not use Bluetooth access to build an advertising profile or track nearby people.
10. Vehicle and Safety Notice
Car Health Data provides informational analysis and is not a substitute for a qualified mechanic, manufacturer guidance, safety inspection, or emergency service. Diagnostic analysis may be incomplete or incorrect because of vehicle compatibility, missing data, sensor errors, communications failures, or analytical limitations. Do not interact with the application while driving.
11. Children's Privacy
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the application, services, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted at this URL with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the application, website, account email, or store listing when appropriate.
